After winning its last four games, the Madison College women’s basketball team has a 13-2 record and with one more win would be assured of its first winning season in six years.
The last time Madison College had 13 or more wins was in the 2019-2020 season, when the team went 17-11. It was also the last time the WolfPack won a post-season game.
The team is now receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division II poll.
In its most recent game, Madison College raced to a big first quarter lead to post a double-digit victory over South Suburban College, 70-55, on Jan. 13. It was the WolfPack’s first-ever win over the Bulldogs.
Madison College had an 11-3 run at the end of the first quarter to jump out to a 21-9 lead. The WolfPack extended that lead to 19 points before South Suburban battled back to 37-26 at halftime.
The closest the game got in the second half was seven points, as Madison College held a double-digit lead throughout the final quarter.

Dani Latz led the team with 19 points and eight rebounds. Jamera Green scored 12 points, while Keelyn Zwirschitz and Serinity Metcalfe both scored 11.
Madison College hosts Black Hawk College on Jan. 17 and College of DuPage on Jan. 22. They have two ranked teams coming up in February, hosting 13th-ranked Bryant and Stratton College on Feb. 3 and 18th-ranked Rock Valley College on Feb. 17.
Madison College 81, Blackhawk Technical College 50
A 29-point third quarter secured a 31-point victory for Madison College over visiting Blackhawk Technical College, 81-50, on Jan. 10.
Three players scored in double figures for the WolfPack, including Maia Ellis who posted a double-double. Ellis had 13 points and 11 rebounds in the game. Green and Metcalfe both scored 18 points. The total was a career-high for Green, who converted on four three-point shots.
Madison College 85, Kishwaukee College 53
Madison College jumped out to a big first-half lead as it earned a road victory over Kishwaukee College, 85-53, on Jan. 6. The team also set a team record for blocked shots with 14.
The first quarter saw Madison College race out to a 27-7 lead that the team extended to 50-21 by halftime. While the second half was more competitive, the damage had already been done.
Metcalfe scored a game-high 24 points to go along with a career-best nine rebounds and seven assists. Ellis and Zwirschitz both scored 16 points, while Green added 11 points.
Madison College 86, Loras College JV 75
Serinity Metcalfe scored a career-high 30 points to help boost Madison College to an 86-75 victory over Loras College JV at home on Dec. 12.
Metcalfe was one of three freshmen to record a career-high in points. The others were Maddi DeSmet, who had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Jamera Green, who scored 15 points.
Anoka-Ramsey CC 46, Madison College 45
Anoka-Ramsey Community College, the top-ranked team in Division III, hit a running floater at the buzzer to beat Madison College, 46-45, in Rochester, Minn., on Dec. 10.
Madison College battled back from a 10-point deficit to start the fourth quarter and tied the game late in the quarter on a three-pointer from Metcalfe.
Metcalfe and Latz led the WolfPack with nine points each. The WolfPack hit just 18 of 58 shots in the game.
