The Yahara Journal is hosting a reading, featuring poet Hedgie Choi on Thursday, April 9, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Truax Studio Theater. The event is free and is open to Madison College students. 

Choi’s book of poems, “Salvage,” was named one of the best poetry books of 2025 by The New York Times. 

Choi received her MFA in poetry from the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin and her MFA in fiction from the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.
