Many may have questions about plans for the old tennis court off Wright Street. At the beginning of the month students arrived to the Truax campus to find the tennis court being stripped of its fencing.

“For years it’s been an eyesore,” said Mark Thomas, vice president of administrative services, “and this year we had it in the budget to take down the fence.”

Unfortunately for those who dream of more parking, or even student housing, Madison College currently has no specific plans in the works for the space.

“We are discussing a number of plans, one of them is housing, but we’re not moving forward with any of that,” said Thomas. “All that’s going on now is that the fence is coming down.”

There’s even a question as to whether or not the college needs the space anymore.

If you have ideas or opinions about the future of the space, please email [email protected], or stop in the Clarion office located in the hallway leading to the cafeteria.
