‘Mockingjay’ ends Hunger Games series

Megan Toman, Staff Writer

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2” is a real tearjerker. The movie is filled with love, heartbreak, deaths and tears. Of course we still have the love triangle between Katniss, Gale, and Peeta, but there is also a beautiful wedding with dancing and decisions that could change a life.

While Katniss is still gunning for President Snow, she faces many hard decisions that you can only understand completely by seeing the movie yourself. She decides on her actions from her heart, not knowing what consequences will develop as a result of those actions.

We all hope that our favorite characters will survive the many battles they face and win in the end, but sometimes all the writers of these books-turned-movies just want to see our reactions when they toss in a big twist, which happens quite often in the movie.

If you are looking for a movie with a fully happy ending, you may want look elsewhere. While many prime events occur that will leave you believing nothing else wrong will happen, the inevitable falls onto Katniss and her allies, leaving them to rethink their strategies.

I would recommend seeing this movie at Marcus Point Theater. Not only is it $5.00 for students on Thursdays, but the UltraScreen Theater is comfy and relaxing, with a lot of room and reclining seats that help you enjoy the movie with more satisfaction.
