April marked the start of delayed and shortened season for the Madison College men’s and women’s soccer teams.
Three matches into their eight match season, the WolfPack men’s soccer team has beaten Joliet Junior College, tied Bryant and Stratton College and lost to Rock Valley College.
The team travels to Harper College on April 21, to Joliet Junior College on April 23 and to Rock Valley College on May 5. The WolfPack’s next home match will be against Harper College on May 7.
Madison College’s women’s soccer team has won two matches and lost two matches, although its only conference match so far is a 5-1 win over Rock Valley College.
The women’s team has two matches remaining before the start of post-season play, hosting Illinois Valley Community College on May 2 and traveling to Rock Valley College on May 5.

Men’s results
Rock Valley College 3, Madison College 1
Conference foe Rock Valley College scored two second half goals to beat host Madison College on April 16.
Dhananjai Subba scored Madison College’s only goal off an assist from Jonas Luskey Sanders at the 65 minute mark. Rock Valley had eight shots on goal compared to four for Madison College.

Madison College 2, Bryant and Stratton College 2
A second half goal by freshman Vincent Seils off a pass from Jheison Garcia allowed Madison College to earn a late-game tie with Bryant and Stratton College on April 14.
The WolfPack’s other goal came when freshman Matthew Ruggiero scored of a Jaden Witt assist to tie the game at the 22 minute mark of the first half.

Madison College 2, Joliet Junior College 1
A free kick goal off the crossbar by Subba gave Madison College a 2-1 overtime victory against Joliet Junior College. A foul by Joliet off a corner kick set up Subba’s winning goal.
Sophomore Samuka Toure scored Madison College’s only other goal of the game, scoring t the 24-minute mark. But Joliet was able to tie the game just two minutes later.

Women’s results
Madison College 5, Rock Valley College 1
A four-goal second half helped secure a 5-1 victory for the Madison College women’s soccer team over Rock Valley College on April 16.
Monica Tapia-Gutierrez and Angelina Perez both scored twice in the game for the WolfPack, while Elizabeth Foye added another goal.

Bryant and Stratton College 5, Madison College 0
Visiting Bryant and Stratton College scored three times in the first half and twice in the second to beat Madison College, 5-0, on April 14. Bryant and Statton had 19 shots on goal compared to just five for the WolfPack.

Elgin College 3, Madison College 0
Elgin College struck twice early in the second half and added a late insurance goal to beat visiting Madison College, 3-0, on April 12. Madison College had nine shots on goal, but were unable to convert.

Madison College 4, Illinois Valley Community College 2
Visiting Madison College scored four times in the first half and then held off Illinois Valley in the second half to secure its first victory of the season on April 9. Brittany Lenz, Tapia-Gutierrez, Foye and Perez each scored in the game.
