Nets look like the team to beat

The NBA has two conferences, the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Eight teams from each conference make it to the playoff, and the NBA final is between the champion of each conference.

For many years, the Eastern Conference was considered a weaker conference. I remember that the ninth seed in the Western Conference could have been the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference at one point.

However, the 2020-2021 season is showing more balance between the two conferences.

I still consider the Western conference as the stronger conference. However, there are already four teams in the Eastern Conference that are considered a title contender, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Boston Celtics.

Out of the four teams, the Nets have improved their squad the most since last year with the addition of Kevin Durant and James Harden.

However, there were many questions raised when Harden was traded to the Nets a couple weeks ago. Those include team chemistry, depth of bench, lack of defense, coaching, and so on.

To be honest, I was quite concerned for this team. On paper, Durant, Harden, and Irving sounds like a championship team.

However, with the absence of Irving for a few games, I was questioning whether the Nets will ever have a Big Three on the court together. Now, with Irving back on the court, they have it both on paper and on the court.

Some sports analysts even consider them the biggest threat to the Los Angeles Lakers, last year’s champion. And they look fantastic so far. I still think the Lakers have a better chance than the Nets. However, they are currently on the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

Only about a quarter of the season is over, so the Nets have enough time to bring team chemistry together and compete for the title. Can the Nets vs. the Lakers be the championship matchup?

Maybe, but I cannot wait for the playoff time.
