The Madison College volleyball team heads into the final few matches of the regular season on a roll, having won its last four matches to push its record to 19-5 overall.

Now ranked No. 2 in NJCAA Division 3, the WolfPack also remain in contention for the conference title with an 8-1 conference record and three conference matches remaining.

The Madison College volleyball team ended September playing Joliet Junior College winning in four sets 3-1, and a match against College of Dupage winning, 3-0.

October started with the WolfPack playing against Triton College on Oct. 3. While the Trojans record at 2-5 isn’t anything to brag about, they gave the WolfPack a tough go in the first set.

“I was glad to come away with that 25-23 win in the first set, but I also know that wasn’t the best volleyball this team has played,” coach Ashley Davis said of the first set. The WolfPack would find their groove and play strong the rest of the match winning it three sets, 25-23, 25-11, 25-19.

The night was also Breast Cancer Awareness Night and the WolfPack wore pink jerseys for the night. Davis said of Breast Cancer Awareness Night, “We try and to do one match each October… Each program can choose any point in October if the want to do Breast Cancer Awareness and wear the pink jerseys.”

October also brings the postseason and while the WolfPack still has games to play, Davis is getting her team ready for what comes after the regular season.

“It’s one game at a time but this week is the first time that I’ve introduced to the girls the postseason… what the postseason would look like and start getting that stuff figured out,” Davis said.

The WolfPack will have their final home match on Oct. 12 against Milwaukee Area Technical College. That will be followed by a match against Harper College on Oct. 17, and the regular season finale at Rock Valley College on Oct. 19.
