Softball team among conference leaders

Clarion Staff Report

Madison College is one of three teams at the top of the North Central Community College Conference softball standings.

Rock Valley leads the conference with a 12-1 record, while Madison College is in second place at 10-3. At 8-5, the College of DuPage closely trails the WolfPack.

An April 19 doubleheader between Madison College and Rock Valley (which was played after this issue went to print) could determine the conference title.

Whether the win or finish second in the conference, the WolfPack softball team has had another strong season. The team now stands at 26-17 overall. With 13 games left, it could exceed its win total from a year ago when it finished 33-20.

Recent games, though, have been a bit of a mixed bag for Madison College. The team has posted a 7-5 record lately, playing mostly against non-conference opponents.
