Men’s soccer team ends season with 8-0 romp

A scoring barrage enabled the Madison College men’s soccer team to end regular season play in grand fashion.

Madison College dominated Milwaukee Area Technical College, 8-0, on Oct. 9 to end the season with a winning record. The team finished 7-5-2 overall and 5-4-1 in conference play.

Vinny Pipitone, Sean Kim and Christian Munoz each scored twice in the match to lead the WolfPack. Diego Lavariega and Yacouba Koita added goals as well.
Madison College will next play on Oct. 17 in the NJCAA Division III Region IV Tournament quarterfinals.

Triton College 1, Madison College 0

Madison College dropped a tightly contested defensive contest by a 1-0 score to Triton College on Oct. 7 in River Grove, Ill. The match marked just the second time this season the WolfPack were shutout and the first time in nine matches.

Goaltender John Arendt made five saves for the WolfPack to keep his team in the game. Madison College was held to eight total shots in the match.

Madison College 2, Joliet Junior College 0

Madison College posted its third shutout of the season as goalie John Arendt made four saves to lead the WolfPack to a 2-0 win over Joliet Junior College on Oct. 2.

Christian Munoz scored the game’s first goal at 19:58, while Alfredo Ramirez-Pinho added another later in the match. Madison College out-shot Joliet, 11-6.

Rock Valley College 2, Madison College 1

A goal nine minutes into overtime gave Rock Valley a 2-1 victory over Madison College on Sept. 30 in Rockford, Ill.

Madison College scored first, getting a goal from Ramirez-Pinho with less than five minutes remaining in the first half. Rock Valley tied the game with a goal late in the second half and then pulled off the win in overtime. Both teams had 11 shots in the game. Arendt had six saves for the WolfPack.
