Students earn 30 medals in Skills USA event

Madison College students earned 30 medals in the SkillsUSA annual State Leadership and Skills Conference at the Alliant Energy Center and Expo Hall on May 1.

Eleven of these students qualified for the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, in late June.

Students receving recognition were:

Additive Manufacturing: Gold, Conner Dempsey and George Kattermann; Silver, Dean Colstead and Jerad Lensmire; Bronze, Chandler Rolfsmeyer and Ozmar Vaquera.

Automotive Refinishing Technology: Gold, Zioing Her Pao.

Barbering: Gold, Danny Gutierrez.

Cosmetology: Gold, Mary Loeser; Silver, Kiana Klaas; Bronze, Ann Marie Loeser.

Diesel Equipment Technology: Silver, Paul Newton.

Extemporaneous Speaking: Silver, Andrew Allison.

Job Interview: Gold, Katrina Willis; Silver, Zeno Bell.

Job Skill Demonstration Open: Gold, Payton Fandrich.

Job Skill Demonstration A: Gold, Hunter Payne; Silver, Tyler Mosser.

Marine Service Technology: Silver, Preston Woodstock.

Motorcycle Service Technology: Gold, Alex McConkey.

Pin Design National Bound: Silver, Kiana Klaas.

Prepared Speech: Gold, Aaron Pohl.

Technical Drafting: Bronze, Brian Schroeder.

Welding Fabrication: Silver, Jeromy Kruse, Duncan Leene and Dylan Seffoord; Bronze, Allison Burcham, Cameron Zablocki and Chase Zambloki.

In addition, three Madison College students were elected to state office to serve during the upcoming 2019-20 school year. Those students were: Mitchell Bartelt, president; Tyler Rodhe, secretary; and Zeno Bell, Parliamentarian.
