Madison College Public Safety

Public Safety Officers respond to many calls for service and we communicate our activities to the college community.  Here are some of the notable incidents from the past couple weeks.

On April 26, Public Safety Officers responded to a major water leak in the Health Education Building.  Water was coming from a pipe on the third floor and had leaked through the ceiling onto the 2nd floor.  Officers assisted Maintenance staff in shutting the water off as well as cleaning up.

On April 26, Public Safety Officers responded to a report of a physical altercation on the third floor of the main Truax building. Multiple charges are pending for the involved parties from Madison Police. Another of the involved parties was also arrested by Madison Police on an outstanding warrant.  Drugs were also located on one of the individuals.

On April 25, Public Safety Officers responded to a classroom to assist a student who had fainted. The student did not require medical attention and believed that the symptoms were caused from giving blood earlier in the day.
Public Safety has scheduled Coffee with Public Safety for Wednesday, May 2.  Stop by the Gateway for a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, tea and a cookie!  This event will also be held on Thursday, May 3, at the Downtown Campus.  Stop by and get to know you Public Safety Officers!

Public Safety would also like to congratulate former Student Help Officer Caleb Hartmann on graduating the Madison College Law Enforcement Academy.  Officer Hartmann will begin his career working as a Police Officer for the Lodi Police Department.
