What’s happening? Public Safety Officers respond to many calls for service and we communicate our activities to the college community. Here are some of the notable incidents from the past couple weeks.

On Jan. 27, Public Safety received a theft complaint from a vehicle at the Foundation Centre. Cash was reported missing from the vehicle. Please remember to lock your vehicles and keep items of value out of plain sight.

On Jan. 31, Public Safety received a theft complaint from a staff office at the Truax Campus. Personal electronic devices were among the stolen items. We would like to remind staff to keep office doors secured, even if they are leaving for a short time.

On Feb. 1, officers investigated a disturbance that occurred in the Truax Campus Student Parking Lot area, in which threats were made between two students. This incident is being investigated further by the Behavioral Intervention Team.

On Feb. 8, officers responded to the Truax Campus Student Achievement Center for a woman that collapsed. Officers coordinated a response with Madison Paramedics and rendered aid to the patient until paramedics arrived.

Public Safety Update

Madison College Public Safety welcomes two new full-time Patrol Officers. Officers’ Amber Gilles and Alfred Arthurs are very excited to be part of the WolfPack! Please welcome them if you see them patrolling your campus.

Public Safety would like to remind students and staff to keep their vehicles secure and to park in well-lit populated areas to avoid vehicle break-ins and theft.  Keeping valuable property out of sight is also very important.  For staff that have their own or share an office, please lock your doors, even for short amounts of time, to prevent theft. Theft is a crime of opportunity. “Lock it so you can keep it!”

In addition to our Facebook page, we have a Twitter account! Be sure to follow @PublicSafetyMC to stay informed of what’s happening on your campus.
