The Yahara Journal has announced the winners of its fall writing and artwork contest. The journal received 51 submissions for the contest. First-place winners in the poetry, prose and artwork categories will receive a $50 prize.
Contest winners were:
Poetry – 1. “Quiet on the Rocks” by Jubilee Falu-Simonetti; 2. “Target, Missed” by Brandon Temple; 3. “Guardian Devil” by Jubilee Falu-Simonetti.
Prose – 1. “Crestwater” by Alyssa Schell; 2. “Echoes of Normandy” by Julie Yang; 3. “Margaret’s Note” by Emily Schoeller.
Artwork – 1. “Cierra” by Rosana Delgado; 2. “Women Empowerment” by Daniela Parada; 3. “Warrior” by Declan Rafter.
In addition, the Yahara Journal is holding a spring semester contest now through March 14. Prizes will be awarded to first place winners in poetry, prose, photography and artwork. Students can enter up to five items in the contest. Use the URLs below to enter the contests.

The Yahara Journal is Madison College’s student-produced fine arts and literary journal. All contest submissions will be considered for publication in the group’s annual journal, which is published in the spring semester.
