Growing Green Onion at Home

Boh Suh, Staff Writer

Over the COVID-19, I spent most of my time at home. This means that I have more time to watch random YouTube videos. Among many of the videos that I watched, I found a video about growing a green onion at your home fascinated me. I always wanted to have my own garden, but I still live in an apartment, so gardening is not really an option. However, this green onion garden is possible at home. Here are my few steps with pictures.

Buy a green onion from a grocery store, and then cut as the picture shown.

Use the green part for cooking, and place the bottom white part in a glass jar (I used a pasta jar after washing it) and add water until the roots are covered (Day 0) and then I took a picture every day for a total of 7 days to see how much it grows every day. I changed water every day.
