Aerial performers wow and impress with their unorthodox dance style.

Bandaloop turned things upside down at the Memorial Union on Sept. 13 and 14. Bandaloop is an acrobatic dance troupe from Oakland, Calif. They do aerial performances with a lot of kicks, handstands, backflips, and movement in motion.

The show was a non-stop performance for the eyes.

According to bandaloop.org “A pioneer in vertical dance performance, Bandaloop seamlessly weaves dynamic physicality, intricate choreography and the art of climbing to turn the dance floor on its side. Founded by choreographer and artistic director Amelia Rudolph, Bandaloop’s work has been presented in theaters and museums, on skyscrapers, bridges, billboards and historical sites, in atriums and convention halls, on cliffs, and on screen. Bandaloop honors nature, community and the human spirit by bringing dance to new audiences, activating public and natural spaces, and re-imagining what dance can be.”

The beauty and grace of Bandaloop is hard to miss as dancers pirouette from the sky with their bright costumes.

It looks like they’re flying through the air as they jump from one side of the building to the other.

Bandaloop is art reimagined, and if you’re an artist, musician, or just plain curious, look into Bandaloop and see what you think.

Bandaloop could be an inspiration to try something new, think outside the box, and reimagine your own life and self.

Bandaloop challenges what seems impossible. Maybe there’s something in your life that acrobatic fitness could be (metaphorically or even literally) applied to as well.
