Men’s soccer team led in scoring by Ramirez-Pinho

Despite a 3-2 loss to Harper College on Sept. 25, the Madison College men’s soccer team has played well throughout the month.

The team has gone 4-1-1 since a loss on Sept. 2, posting recent wins against Malcolm X College, Triton College and Milwaukee Area Technical College. Madison College now stands at 5-3-2 overall and has a conference record of 3-2-1.

Alfredo Ramirez-Pinho currently leads the team in scoring with 13 goals and two assists. Christian Munoz has added seven goals for the team. Connor Waity has a team-high eight assists.

Madison College travels to Rock Valey College on Sept. 30 before returning home on Oct. 2 to play Joliet Junior College.

Harper College 3, Madison College 2

Madison College allowed two goals early in the second half to fall to host Harper College, 3-2, on Sept. 25.

Nicolas Piazza opened the scoring with a goal 13 minutes, 45 seconds into the first half. But Harper College scored three times before Ramirez-Pinho was able to add another goal for the WolfPack with less the 10 minutes left to play.

Madison College 6, Malcolm X College 0

Madison College scored three goals in each half to route Malcolm X College, 6-0, on Sept. 20.

Vincenzo Pipitone and Ramirez-Pinho each had two goals to lead the WolfPack. Munoz and James Pretto also scored in the game. Goalie John Arendt made five saves and did not allow a goal.

Madison College 8, Milwaukee Area Technical College 0

Madison College had its best offensive performance of the season on Sept. 11 against visiting Milwaukee Area Technical College, winning, 8-0. Munoz scored a hat trick with three goals, one in the first half and two in the second half. Ramirez-Pinho and Yacouba Koita both added two goals. Madison College outshot Milwaukee, 29-6.
