After 13 matches this season, the Madison College men’s soccer team remains unbeaten with 12 wins and one tie. Most recently, 14th-ranked Madison College defeated Prairie State College, 3-0, recording its sixth shutout of the season.
Madison College scored its first goal against visiting Prairie State just over 33 minutes into the match, when Cole Rogers scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season. Justyn Blair got the assist on the play.
Two second-half goals secured the win for the WolfPack, which out-shot Prairie State, 7-4. JJ Espinosa scored goal off an assist from Gio Diaz, at the 55-minute mark. Then Mason Leslie scored his first goal of the season with minutes left in the match off an assist from Josh Kilts.
Goalie Caylen Coventry had one save in the match and recorded his fourth shutout of the season.
Madison College has three matches left before the post-season begins, starting with a home match against Joliet Junior College on Oct. 15. The other matches are at College of DuPage on Oct. 19 and at Milwaukee Area Technical College on Oct. 22.
Madison College 2, Bryant & Stratton College 1
A last-minute goal by Cole Rogers gave visiting Madison College a 2-1 victory over Bryand & Stratton College on Oct. 8. The goal came at the 89:55 mark, and was Rogers’ third game-winning goal fo the season.
The first goal of the match came from Johan Lopez, who had the assist on the goal by Rogers. Lopez took a pass from Rodrigo Lasso and unleashed a shot from the right side of the penalty box that looped over the goalie but under the crossbar.
Madison College had 17 shots in the match, while limiting Bryant & Stratton to just four total shots.

Madison College 2, Moraine Valley CC 0
Freshman midfielder Justyn Blair scored his first two goals of the season to give Madison College a 2-0 victory over Moraine Valley Community College at home on Oct. 5.
Both goals came in the second half. The first was when he headed in a pass from Guiherme Amaral minutes into the second half. His next goal came at the 61 minute mark off a pass from Hudson Nielsen.
Madison College outshot Moraine Valley, 22-4, with goalie Caylen Coventry earning his third shutout of the season.
Madison College 0, South Suburban College 0
A scoreless draw with South Suburban College at home on Oct. 1 marked Madison College’s first non-victory of the season. Madison College controlled the ball much of the match, taking 16 shots to South Suburban’s 4, but only three of those shots were on goal.
Madison College 3, Parkland College 1
Freshman Johan Lopez scored twice to lead Madison College to a 3-1 victory over Parkland College at home on Sept. 27.
Fellow freshman Dan Fox scored the first goal for the WolfPack, striking 32 minutes into the match off an assist from Rodrigo Lasso. Lopez then gave Madison College a 2-0 lead with a goal at 41:13. Guiherme Amaral had the assist on the play.
After Parkland College scored 10 minutes into the second half to pull within a goal, Lopez struck again with less than five minutes left to help secure the win.
Madison College 3, Triton College 2
A second half penalty kick gave Madison College a 3-2 victory over Triton College on Sept. 24. Both teams scored twice in the first half, but a foul inside the box on Triton’s goalie gave Cole Rogers a penalty kick that he put into the net 12 minutes into the second half.
The goal was the second for Rogers, who opened the scoring 8 minutes and 40 seconds into the match with a goal off an assist from Jacob Unger. Madison College’s other goal came seconds after Triton had tied the match, with JJ Espinosa scoring at the 13:33 mark.
