Fall is the time of year when we bundle up in sweaters, visit pumpkin patches, carve pumpkins, go apple picking and so much more. It is a time to enjoy before winter rushes in. Here are three suggestions for your next fall trip.
Warm Belly Farm, 4311 Vilas Hope Road in Cottage Grove .
Take a trip to Warm Belly Farm and get a cup of their famous apple cider. Cold or hot, each sip that you take is like a warm hug. I personally love hot apple cider, so that while I’m holding my cup my chilly fingers can stay warm. They also have a pumpkin patch that spreads across a whole field. Picking just the right pumpkins for carving and for decoration brings fall into your home. Warm Belly also has lots of photo ops to choose from, so make sure to be camera-ready and dress cozy.
Schuster’s Farm, 1326 US-12 in Deerfield.
Schuster’s Farm is also another favorite of mine. On the first Sunday of November, they hold a “pumpkin destruction day” where you get to smash pumpkins. It is one of their special events. If you have younger siblings, cousins or nieces, they also have something called “Princess and Pumpkins,” where all the young ones can go visit the princesses who show up. There is also a corn maze that you and your friends can challenge to get through. If you like something more spooky, they have a haunted forest corn maze to experience after dark.
Appleberry Farm,8079 Maurer Road in Cross Plains.
Appleberry Farm is perfect for apple picking. There are so many types of apples to choose from. It’s the sweet smell and taste that bring it all together. They bake treats weekly from apple pie to apple cider donuts that you can purchase in their store. On Saturdays and Sundays, they have a brat stand where guests can enjoy freshly grilled apple cider brats with their special homemade apple relish on top. Making it a perfect midday meal for you and your family’s visit.
From pumpkin patches to apple orchards fall is the perfect season to enjoy seasonal flavors and make memories of simple joys that autumn brings. Cherishing moments with family and your closest friends.
