For the fifth time in publication history, The Clarion has won the prestigious Pacemaker award from the Associated Collegiate Press. The award was presented at MediaFest25 National College Media Convention in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 15-18.
It was one of seven national awards received by the publication, including a second-place award in reporter of the year for Kelly Feng.
“The Pacemaker is the association’s preeminent award,” Associated Collegiate Press executive director Laura Widmer said. “ACP is honored to recognize the best of the best.”
The Clarion was one of 17 college newspapers to receive the award this year, which recognizes both two-year and four-year institutions.
