Country album, ‘Brett Eldredge’ is striking the balance

If you are looking at new country albums you should give Brett Eldredge’s latest self-titled album a listen. Eldredge is a well-known country artist who won new artist of the year at the Country Music Awards back in 2014.

His debut album “Bring You Back” as well as his third release “Illinois” both earned Gold certification, making Eldredge a stand out in the country music world.

“Glow,” Eldredge’s second album, reached number two on the U.S. country charts, while his newest effort topped the country music charts at number one just this month.

I had mixed feelings when I first listened to the album, because some of the songs sounded similar to those of other artists. I felt like I heard it all before.

But as I listened to the album through a second and third time, the songs started to grow on me.

The tracks flow well together. The songs in Eldredge’s third album “Illinois” are mostly up-tempo, with only a few slower songs. I enjoyed Eldredge’s newest album as it strikes a good balance between slow and upbeat tempo songs.

The stand out song to me is “Castaway.” With its stripped down and mellow sound, this track is not just another ballad.

The arrangement is deceptively simple, with a single guitar accompaniment. Eldredge digs deep and puts a lot of meaning behind his lyrics (“I look up at the moon, but all see is you,”) making this one of the most memorable songs on the album.

I would recommend this album to country music fans and to people who want to start listening to country music.

After listening to the new project, I think it has quite a few stand out songs and is a pretty good introduction to Brett Eldredge’s music.
