Golf team claims title advances to nationals

The Madison College golf team won the three-day NJCAA Region IV Tournament to earn its first regional title since 2006 and it’s first trip to the Division III National Championship in eight years.

Adam Miller led the way for the WolfPack, earning meet medalist honors with a three-day total of 225 (73-74-78) at the Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Ill. He finished three strokes ahead of his nearest competitor, the same margin of victory the WolfPack had over the nearest team.

Madison College finished with a team score of 955. The College of DuPage was second at 958, while Rock Valley College finished third with a score of 976.

Michael Wiebe shot a 235 (79-80-76) to finish fourth overall, while Ryan Glover posted a 242 (77-80-85) to finish in eighth place. Zach Brown finished at 254 (88-83-83) and Austin Lois shot a 263 (96-82-85) to round out the Madison College individual scores.

The NJCAA Division III National Championship will be played May 30 through June 3 in Chautaugua, N.Y.
