Poetry reading on Oct. 5

The Yahara Journal is hosting a reading by poet Amie Whittemore on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. in the Truax Studio Theater, Room B2031.

An instructor at Middle Tennessee State University, Whittemore is the author of “Glass Harvest.” She is the co-founder of the Charlottesville Reading Series and assistant editor at Poem of the Week.

Chef Series opens Oct. 19

Award-winning chef Bill Kim will kick off the Fall 2017 Chef Series in the Truax Demonstration Kitchen on Oct. 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendances if free for students and $25 for non-students.

Kim’s first cookbook, “Korean BBQ: How to Master Your Grill in 7 Sauces,” will be released in April of 2018 by Ten Speed Press.

Diane’s Delicious Diner opens for the semester

The gourmet dining facility, Diane’s Delicious Diner, is open for the semester now through Nov. 22. Food will be served every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. A full dining session begins at noon and takes approximately two hours.
