Late goal helps WolfPack women’s soccer team avoid loss

A late goal by Jamie Hess helped the Madison College women’s soccer team avoid a conference loss against Triton College on Sept. 25.

Hess’ goal came at the 82-minute mark, less than a minute after Triton took a lead, and enabled the WolfPack to escape with a 2-2 tie. Madison College now stands at 4-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference play.

Katie Travis opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the season, putting Madison College up, 1-0, about 31 minutes into the game.

Madison College outplayed Triton for much of the game, getting 23 shots on goal compared to 11.

Three conference games are next up for Madison College. The team will host Rock Valley College on Sept. 30, travel to Joliet JC on Oct. 2 and host Elgin on Oct. 7.

Madison College 4, College of Lake County 2

Tynia Goldensoph scored three goals in the first half to lead Madison College to a 4-2 victory over the College of Lake County on Sept. 23. Goldensoph is now tied for the team lead in goals with seven.

Madison College 4, South Suburban College 1

Three second-half goals lifted Madison College to a 4-1 victory over South Suburban College on Sept. 21 in South Holland, Ill. Lindsay Kraemer, Jamie Erickson, Arianna Viscarra and Travis each scored in the win.

Harper College 2, Madison College 1

Madison College allowed two second-half goals and fell to Harper College, 2-1, on Sept. 18 in Palatine, Ill. Midfielder Jamie Hess scored the only goal for Madison College.
