Officials from Madison College and Cleary Building Corp. signed an articulation agreement on Feb. 12. The “Corporate-to-College” agreement allows employees of the Verona-based company who have finished coursework at its Steel Wood University to receive credits from Madison College.

Those credits can be used to fulfill requirements in certain associate of science degree programs. Some of those programs include business management, marketing and supervisory management. In addition, the credits could also be used toward a technical diploma in small business entrepreneurship as well as a sales academy certificate.

Bryan Woodhouse, dean of Madison College’s School of Business and Applied Arts, was cited in a college press release as saying the partnership affirms the value of experiential learning.

“Steel Wood University is a rigorous training program for new Cleary employees with an intense focus on management. It’s in line with the college’s commitment to real-world, hands-on attainment of knowledge and skills,” he said.

Cleary Building Corp. has 78 branch offices in 25 states. The collaboration with Madison College will provide a pathway for future career advancement for its employees.
