‘Lucy’ has added brainpower

Johansson is the shining star in this unusual mind-bending psychological thriller

“Lucy” is a riveting must see sci-fi of the summer season, starring Scarlett Johansson (Lucy) and Morgan Freeman (Samuel Norman).

The trouble all begins when Lucy’s boyfriend forces her to deliver a briefcase to a Mr. Jang. Jang’s goons execute her boyfriend, and Jang makes Lucy serve as a drug courier.

Lucy then undergoes a major transformation when the bag of synthetic drugs she is carrying inside her stomach leaks. Immediately, her cerebral capacity jumps to 20 percent.

Eventually, Lucy contacts neuroscientist Samuel Norman. Norman theorizes that the substance, called CH4, will allow her to access 100 percent of her human intellect.

But he is not the only one interested in Lucy and the newfound substance. Throughout the film, drug traffickers try to sell it for its clandestine potential.

As Lucy becomes the next greatest scientific discovery, she must decide what to do with the knowledge given to her.

If you like mind-bending psychological thrillers akin to “Limitless,” “Inception,” and “A Beautiful Mind,” this film will be one to add to your collection.
